ROAD WORK

Living in New Jersey I have been making photographs of road repair in my township of Montclair. Inspired by the paintings of the American artist Brice Marden. It is so easy to pass by these renderings on the road and not notice their intimidation to be an expression of art. My obsession has increased in visiting many, many roadways in northern New Jersey, including shopping malls and parking lots. Each repair is quite unique, and the roads act as a form of canvas to these unexpected forms of art
